Projection mapping, also known as video mapping and spatial augmented reality, is a projection technology used to turn objects, often irregularly shaped, into a display surface for video projection. By using specialized software, a two- or three-dimensional object is spatially mapped on the virtual program which mimics the real environment it is to be projected on. Projection mapping is a technology used to provide visual or animation effects in the form of 2D (2 dimension) or 3D (3 dimension) on the surface of buildings, objects, stages and so on. These arrangements are to be shown creatively in a storyline based on the themes given.
